A court in Khabarovsk Krai of Russia has sentenced a local resident to nine years in prison for financing terrorism. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

"The First Eastern District Military Court has issued a verdict in a criminal case against a 59-year-old resident of Khabarovsk Krai. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Financing Terrorism)," the report said.

According to the case materials, the defendant transferred funds several times to support a terrorist organization in the period from November 2021 to August 2022. The money was intended for the head of the organization.
