A Russian citizen who was trying to move to a Middle Eastern country was arrested in North Ossetia.

He was detained while trying to leave the country. A criminal case has been opened against the man under an article on participation in the activities of a terrorist organization.

According to the press service of the FSB Border Department for the republic, the detainee is suspected of intending to join the ranks of a foreign terrorist organization banned in Russia.

The man, born in 2005, was arrested under an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation concerning the organization and participation in the activities of terrorist groups. He was taken in custody.
