Four militants eliminated during counter-terrorist operation in Dagestan

Four militants have been eliminated during a counter-terrorism operation in Dagestan, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) reports.

"As a result of the counter-terrorism operation conducted on the night of March 5 by the NAC operational headquarters in Dagestan, four militants who were planning to commit a terrorist attack at the venue of the regional department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kaspiysk were eliminated," the committee said, RIA Novosti reports.

Grenade launchers, improvised explosive devices, grenades, machine guns, a pistol and ammunition were found at the scene of the battle and in a cache nearby.
The group’s activities, as noted by the NAC, were coordinated by Islamic State foreign terrorist organization.

Earlier, the Makhachkala administration reported that a counter-terrorism operation regime had been introduced in the village of Semender in the suburbs of the Dagestani capital. As RIA Novosti was told at the operational headquarters in Dagestan, before this, unknown individuals had put up armed resistance to law enforcement officers.
