Unknown persons attack Sikh temple in Indian state of Punjab
A grenade detonated at a Hindu temple in the northern Indian state of Punjab damaged walls and shattered window panes, Xinhua reported, citing police.
There were no reports of casualties or injuries in the attack.
According to police, the attack took place early Saturday morning in the Khandwala area of Amritsar, a holy Sikh city in Punjab.
The attack caused panic among residents of the area.
CCTV footage of the attack shows two unidentified men approaching the Thakur Dwar temple on a motorcycle. After waiting outside for a few seconds, one of them threw something towards the temple, and then they fled the scene on a motorcycle. An explosion was soon heard, sending debris flying.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the attack.
