Foreign Takfiri fighters operating in Syria must be expelled from Syria. This was stated by the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Fuad Hussein, TASS reports.

"Foreign fighters [in Syria] are Takfiris (adherents of radical Islamist ideology - TASS note) and must be expelled from Syria," the Iraqi News Agency (INA) quotes the head of the foreign policy agency.

According to Hussein, official Baghdad presented its point of view on the events taking place in Syria during meetings with the head of the Syrian Foreign Ministry. "The Syrian Foreign Ministry asked us to improve relations, provide assistance and facilitate the lifting of sanctions," he noted.

"We need a coordinating council to regulate relations between Iraq and Syria," Hussein added.
