At least four people were killed and more than 13 were injured when a gunman on a motorcycle opened fire on a group of worshippers in the village of Khayalin, Hama province in central Syria, Xinhua reported citing Sham FM.

The gunman reportedly targeted people leaving a mosque, causing panic and chaos as rescue teams arrived at the scene.

Syrian Civil Defense teams arrived at the scene to care for the wounded while security forces pursued the attacker.

Authorities have not yet revealed the motive for the attack, for which no group has claimed responsibility.
