Four terrorists were eliminated in a joint operation by security forces and law enforcement agencies in Pakistan's northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Xinhua news agency quoted the military.

The intelligence-driven operation was carried out in the Swat district of Punjab province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media arm of the Pakistani army, said in a statement.

Security forces engaged the terrorists on their premises and eliminated all four, ISPR said, adding that a huge cache of arms and ammunition was also found in their hideout.

Those eliminated were involved in numerous terrorist attacks in the region, the statement said.
