The Second Western District Military Court has convicted three foreign nationals in a case of participation in a terrorist community in the Bryansk Region. They were sentenced to prison terms of six to nine years, TASS reported citing the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region.

It was established that in 2022 these foreign nationals, when studying at a university in Bryansk, joined a community in one of the messengers at the suggestion of one of them. That community was adhering to the goals and ideology of a foreign terrorist organization banned in Russia and calling for terrorist attacks to be carried out. “As participants of this community, the convicts participated in justification of the narratives of the terrorist organization and spreading them in the Bryansk region,” - the message noted.

According to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, one of the defendants also posted a video with a text justifying terrorism, including activities of a specific banned terrorist organization, on a social media, so that an unlimited number of users could view it.
