American FBI arrests India's most wanted terrorist

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested Harpreet Singh, accused of involvement in at least 14 terrorist attacks in the Indian state of Punjab and links to foreign terrorist organisations.

The Times of India reports that the arrested man also faces charges of illegally entering the United States in 2021. Harpreet Singh, who carried out the tasks of the banned Sikh separatist group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) to orchestrate terrorist attacks and incite communal strife in Punjab, supplying extremists with weapons and explosives to carry out attacks in various states of the country, is considered the most wanted terrorist in India.

Indian authorities are expected to initiate deportation of Harpreet Singh from the US to his home country for investigation of his offences and prosecution.
