Heads of the Security Councils of Central Asia discuss the fight against terrorism

The secretaries of the Security Councils of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as the military attaché of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Tashkent, discussed the fight against terrorism and extremism in Central Asia at a meeting held in Samarkand, UzA reports.

The event was held within the framework of Uzbekistan's chairmanship in the Consultative Meetings of the Central Asian Heads of States.

The participants discussed issues of regional security, countering terrorism, extremism, radicalization and transnational organized crime. They reviewed the draft Concept for Ensuring Regional Security and Stability, the idea of which was put forward by the President of Uzbekistan at the Consultative Meeting of the Central Asian Heads of States in Astana on August 9, 2024.
