Police officers detained a 49-year-old resident of the Priozernoye gardening community in Kirovsky District of the Leningrad Region. The man is suspected of propaganda of terrorism on social media.

On 12 April, an acquaintance of the Leningrad resident contacted police. He reported that the 49-year-old man supported Ukrainian military on his social media profiles.

The same day, on the 46th kilometre of "Shlisselburg-Naziya" highway police officers detained the suspect. They seized a mobile phone from a 49-year-old resident of Priozernoye gardening community. The man was previously convicted for a fatal accident. 

The police examined the suspect’s smartphone. They found four posts containing public calls to carry out terrorist activities on his social media.

As 47channel has learned, on Wednesday, 16 April, the Investigative Committee launched a criminal case under the article “Public calls to carry out terrorist activities”. The investigation is underway.
