Two field commanders eliminated by military in India's Chhattisgarh state

 
Two Naxalite commanders have been killed in a fierce gunfight with police in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, Xinhua news agency quoted police as saying.

The shooting started on Tuesday night in a forest near Kilam Bargum villages on the border of Kondagaon and Narayanpur districts, south of Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh state.

Both of the bodies have been recovered. Police said an assault rifle and explosives were found on the scene.

According to a police spokesman, the government forces did not suffer any casualties in the clash.

It was earlier reported that at least three Naxalites were killed in a fierce gunfight in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

According to reports, 140 Naxalites have been killed in Chhattisgarh since the beginning of this year.
