In Moscow, a storekeeper of Yandex Lavka and a restaurant chef are accused of terrorism
As Moscow police conducted a raid on illegal immigrants, they found two foreigners who were ready to join a terrorist organisation.
Two foreigners are accused of preparing to join an organisation which is recognised as a terrorist one in Russia (Part 1, Article 30, Part 2, Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The first one is an unmarried storekeeper of Yandex Lavka food delivery service, and the second one works as a chef in a restaurant in the capital, is unmarried and has secondary education, TASS reports.
The migrants detained in the raid were supposed to be deported out of the country to one of the Central Asian republics. However, before deportation, police officers decided to check their smartphones.
In their phones police found evidence indicating that the defendants intended to join terrorists. The men were transferred to a pre-trial detention centre, where they will await trial.
