US Imposes Sanctions on Two Turkish Companies over Daesh Ties
The US authorities imposed sanctions on two companies and four individuals in Turkey because of their links with the terrorist organization Daesh, banned in the Russian Federation.
The sanctions target “critical nodes in the Daesh financial network” that allow terrorists to “recruit people” and transfer funds to and from Iraq and Syria, according to statements from the Treasury and the US Department of State.
Brukan al-Khatuni, an Iraqi citizen living in Turkey, and three individuals associated with him, as well as Wadi Alrrafidayn and Sham Express companies, were sanctioned. According to the US authorities, Wadi Alrrafidayn is under al-Khatouni's control and Sham Express has been transferring funds to Daesh.
It is mentioned that the Turkish authorities are introducing similar measures against these individuals and companies.
