A wave of violence against civilians has swept across Syria

At least seven civilians have been killed in Aleppo, northern Syria. Six people were shot dead in the Sheikh Saeed neighborhood in the southern part of the city by a group of militants riding on motorcycles. The assailants finished off the victims of the attack before fleeing the scene, Al-Mayadeen reported.

In another incident, a doctor at a local hospital was killed at his workplace by unidentified gunmen. While no group claimed responsibility for the attacks, it is known that the killed doctor had previously criticized the new “authorities” in in Syria, headed by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group.

According to reporters, 78 civilians, mostly critics of the new regime in Damascus, have been killed in Syria since the beginning of April. There have also been reports of kidnappings of civilians, including leaders of local religious communities suspected of disloyalty to the regime, increasing in frequency.
