A resident of the capital used Telegram messenger to disseminate materials and narratives supporting terrorism and intended to participate in a terrorist group in Syria.

The perpetrator was detained by police officers at Almaty airport while attempting to move to Syria via Turkey.

In the course of the main trial it was established that the defendant approved armed conflicts on religious grounds in the Telegram group chat and discussed her departure to Syria to marry her two minor daughters out to members of terrorist groups.

The court sentenced the perpetrator to 7 years of imprisonment.
