ISIS terrorists become more active in northeastern Syria
The Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have strengthened their positions and increased the number of patrols in Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria amid intensified activity by the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS) seeking to achieve a stable level of terrorist operations targeting military and administrative facilities and public events. SDF reported this in a statement published on its official social media pages.
According to the statement, five Kurdish fighters were killed while fighting off two terrorist attacks on SDF checkpoints in al-Jazrat village in western Deir ez-Zor and on a military vehicle in Ziban village in the east. “These attacks were part of a series of organized terrorist operations carried out by the IS terrorist group in Deir ez-Zor over the past two days,” the statement said.
