Terrorist attack against law enforcement officers prevented in Dagestan

Officers of intelligence service prevented a terrorist attack against law enforcement officers in Dagestan. The woman who was planning it was detained. This was reported by TASS, citing the FSB's Public Relations Center.

“The Federal Security Service, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, prevented a terrorist attack against law enforcement officers in the Republic of Dagestan. As a result of the measures taken in the Khasavyurt district, a supporter of a foreign terrorist organization banned in Russia, a Russian citizen born in 1996, was detained. She was planning to detonate a homemade explosive device at a law enforcement building in Khasavyurt,” the FSB said.

The woman had components for making a homemade explosive device seized from her,. Besides, there was correspondence with a terrorist organization militant on her communication devices in the Telegram messenger app. According to the FSB, the correspondence contained discussions of the planned explosion and an oath of allegiance to the terrorist group.

The woman detained for preparing a terrorist attack in Dagestan confessed that she had planned to carry out the attack on May 9 in Khasavyurt.

According to her, she met Abdullah in an Islamic group on Telegram, and he asked her to take photos of buildings of various organizations in Khasavyurt and the Khasavyurt district. “He instructed me to purchase various substances so that I could carry out a terrorist attack on May 9: either plant [an explosive device] or blow myself up,” the woman said.
