Pakistani security forces eliminated five militants and detained two more during a series of intelligence-based operations carried out in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Xinhua news agency reported, citing a military statement.

The operations took place on April 30 and May 1 in the areas of Bajaur, North Waziristan, and Mohmand, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani army.

The militants killed and arrested were involved in numerous terrorist attacks, the ISPR added.
