Two Islamic State (IS) militants were killed and one Iraqi security officer wounded on Sunday in clashes north of Baghdad, capital city of Iraq, the Xinhua news agency reported, citing a security source.

The clashes began when joint forces carried out an operation to search for IS militants in the Tarmia area, about 40 km north of Baghdad, said Major Essam Yahya of the Baghdad Police Department.

Yahya added that the operation was ongoing and forces were searching for the remaining militants.
