Terrorist hideout and several IEDs discovered by Indian security forces
Experts note that teenagers facing social problems among their peers are the first to become involved in online communities based on extremist ideas, conspiracy theories, and calls for violence. Experts believe that states should demand better content moderation from large social media and greater efforts to combat the spread of extremist ideas.
Indian security forces have discovered a terrorist hideout in a forest area in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the north of the country and seized five improvised explosive devices (IEDs). This was reported by TASS, citing the PTI agency.
The hideout was discovered during a joint search operation by the army and police, carried out as part of enhanced checks following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The IEDs found there, weighing between 500 grams and 5 kg, were ready for use and packaged.
“They were destroyed by a controlled explosion on site, which prevented the terrorists from carrying out explosions in the border area,” the agency's sources said.
In addition, according to the sources, two radio stations, one five-liter gas cylinder, one pair of binoculars, and personal belongings were found in the hideout.
