Haibatullah Akhundzada: Power in Afghanistan belongs to the religious leaders now
Taliban leader Haibatullah Akhundzada said that power in Afghanistan has finally passed to religious leaders, emphasizing that Muslims had been deprived of such rule for “hundreds of years,” according to the Telegram channel afgbazzar (Afghan Insider).
The Taliban leader called on his supporters to strictly observe Sharia law, promising that their power would remain unshakable if they did so. He also warned of attempts by enemies to divide the movement through propaganda.
Despite continuing international pressure, the Taliban remains the only radical movement that has managed to establish and maintain complete control over the sovereign state. Although the international community continues to officially reject the legitimacy of the Taliban regime, in practice many countries have already made certain concessions. This situation strengthens the movement's position and is perceived by the radical members of the movement as a historic victory.
