The Investigative Committee has completed its investigation into a criminal case against a resident of the Pervomaisky District who, as a member of a terrorist organization, was recruiting other people. According to the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Altai Territory, he will soon appear in court.

According to the investigation, the 57-year-old defendant was a member of a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation. In 2024, he used a messenger app to recruit citizens and incite them to engage in terrorist activities. His activities were stopped by military counterintelligence officers.

A criminal case was initiated under Article 205.5 (Participation in the activities of an organization recognized as terrorist) and Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Incitement, recruitment, or other involvement of a person in terrorist activities). During the preliminary investigation, sufficient evidence was gathered. The criminal case, with the charges approved by the prosecutor, has been sent to court.
