Two terrorists planning bomb attacks in Hyderabad arrested in India
A major terrorist attack was prevented by Indian security forces in the city of Hyderabad (Telangana state), according to NDTV.
Two men, Siraj Ur Rehman (29) and Sayed Samir (28), have been arrested on suspicion of planning bombings in Hyderabad.
They are believed to have ties to an Islamic State cell in Saudi Arabia.
The police seized explosives from premises used by the suspects. The detainees are currently in custody and will soon be brought before a court.
Earlier on May 17, at Mumbai International Airport, officers from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) detained two men suspected of being linked to a dormant Islamic State cell. They had been hiding in Indonesia and arrived on a flight from Jakarta with the intention of entering India.
