Officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in the Volgograd region have opened a criminal case against a 21-year-old local resident. The man is suspected of publicly justifying terrorist activities on the internet.

According to MTV.ONLINE, citing information from the agency, the suspect posted a comment on a messaging app approving of the actions of extremists who carried out a terrorist attack in Karabulak on March 2–3, 2024. The message contained calls justifying the radical ideas of Islamic extremism and inciting religious hatred.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Justification of terrorism). Operational measures are continuing to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
