The Southern District Military Court sentenced two militants to 13 and 19 years in prison for attacking Dagestan in 1999. They will serve their sentences in a strict regime colony. This was reported by TASS, citing the press service of the Federal Security Service in Stavropol.

Russian citizens Eduard Taushev and Temirali Zarakaev, members of an illegal armed group led by Shamil Basayev, participated in an attack on Russian Defense Ministry servicemen in the Botlikhsky district of Dagestan in August 1999. A criminal case was opened against them.
