The US plans to withdraw a significant portion of its troops from Syria, leaving only one military base as a symbolic presence, according to a report published Sunday by the pro-government newspaper Türkiye, citing sources in Turkish security agencies.

“The sources emphasized that the US will leave Syria, with only one base remaining in the SAR as a “symbolic’ presence,” the newspaper reported.

According to the sources, US President Donald Trump sees no benefit in the US presence in the Middle East and does not want Washington to experience problems in the future in this regard.

“Turkey constantly reiterates its desire for countries in the region to address their issues on their own without interference from other parties,” the sources said.
