Three men convicted in Rostov for public calls for terrorism
The Southern District Military Court of Rostov city has handed down a verdict in a case involving public calls for terrorist activity. Alexander Pogorelov, Jamal Mamatkulov, and Roman Myskov were the defendants. All three have been found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Russian Criminal Code. This was reported by the court's press service.
According to the investigation, between March 1 and 25, 2023, the men filmed and posted videos online in Krasnodar calling for violent action.
To create the content, Pogorelov purchased camouflage clothing, masks, an airsoft assault rifle, drones, a tripod, and a homemade sign for Lovtsovo town in the Domodedovo urban district of the Moscow region. The defendants then drove to a deserted location, where they recorded the video. In the video, they were wearing masks and holding imitation weapons and drones, while Pogorelov recited a text containing threats against the state authorities and calls to destroy infrastructure facilities.
On March 25, the recording was posted online for public viewing.
The court sentenced the defendants to prison terms: Pogorelov to six years and six months, Mamatkulov to six years, and Myskov to five years and six months.
