Islamic State militants have declared war on Baloch groups in Pakistan, according to the Telegram channel Directorate 4.

The unofficial media center of IS, Al-Azaim, considered the mouthpiece of the so-called “Khorasan Province,” published a video entitled “The Incident in Mastung and the Conspiracy of the Infidels,” in which the group's propagandists reported on clashes with the “Balochistan Liberation Army” in Balochistan province. The incident took place in March 2025 in the Mastung district, where the group had a training camp. The separatists attacked the IS facility and fought with the jihadists for more than three days. Up to 30 Islamists, including foreigners, were killed in the fighting.

IS propagandists claimed that the Balochistan Liberation Army was acting “in the interests of the US” and that after the attack, the previous non-aggression agreement between the parties was no longer valid – the separatists became priority targets for the group. For more than a decade, the jihadists avoided conflict with other Pakistani groups, observing an unspoken consensus: as long as the fight against the Pakistani regime continues, the sides will not attack each other. This suited everyone and did not conflict with IS's interests.
