The illegal activities of a resident of the Astrakhan region were uncovered by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) during counterterrorism operations.

The Astrakhan resident is a supporter of a foreign terrorist organization that is banned in the Russian Federation. Our fellow countryman arrived in a Middle Eastern Arab republic and pledged allegiance to the terrorist organization there. 

The fact was revealed during operational search activities. The investigative unit of the FSB of Russia in the Astrakhan region opened a criminal case against the man.

The Southern District Military Court found the Astrakhan resident guilty of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization. He was sentenced to 11 years in a strict regime correctional colony.
