A Kaliningrad Resident Convicted of Promoting Terrorism Among Migrants

A resident of the Kaliningrad region of Russia was sentenced to four years in a general regime penal colony for promoting terrorism.

As RG was told by the press service of the regional department of the FSB of Russia, he was one of the leaders of the local undercover cell of Katiba Tawhid wal-Jihad foreign terrorist organization, banned in the Russian Federation. He preached to labor migrants, justifying the activities of this organization, and posted terrorist videos on social media.

The case against him was initiated under the Article of the Criminal code on “Public Calls for Terrorist Activities, Public Justification or Propaganda of Terrorism.”
