Pakistan Concerned about Terrorist Activity on the Afghan Border

Pakistan's permanent representative to the UN Ambassador Munir Akram expressed concern about the increase in the activity of terrorist groups in Afghanistan due to the difficult economic situation, Newsweek reports.

He stressed that Islamabad is ready to combat the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (banned in the Russian Federation), the Balochistan Liberation Army and regional branches of IS (banned in the Russian Federation) inside the country. He pointed out that it is necessary to find the right strategy for the settlement of the issue in Afghanistan.

Earlier, on October 27, 2022, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Oleg Syromolotov said that more than 20 terrorist groups are operating in Afghanistan, with the total number of members amounting to about 10 thousand. He pointed out that the influx of foreign terrorists into Afghanistan continues, and terrorists are financed from abroad.
