Mali army repels double terrorist attack on security posts

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) repelled a double attack on security posts in Tanabougou and Sirakorole in the Kulikoro region. This was reported by the army's general staff on social media, according to the African Initiative news agency.

“FAMa units are conducting a sweep in the region after repelling a double attack on security posts in Tanabougou and Sirakorole, which took place on May 30 at around 5:30 a.m.,” the statement said.

Several militants were killed, and their bodies are currently being identified. The exact number of casualties has not been disclosed.

Earlier in May, Malian Defense Minister General Sadio Camara said during a visit to the strategic city of Kidal that FAMa was regaining control of the country's territory and that terrorist groups in the north were living their “last days.”

On April 28, Malian armed forces conducted an operation in the Sebabougou area of the Nioro du Sahel region, regaining control of territory previously held by militants.
