Six IS supporters detained in Istanbul on August 13

Turkish security services detained six supporters of the Islamic State. The operation took place in Istanbul. During searches of the suspects' homes, security forces found IS propaganda materials. Five of those detained were foreigners. According to the security services, they were involved in recruiting new members and providing financial and technical support, coordinating their actions with jihadists in conflict zones. Turkish special services acknowledged that they had stepped up the fight against IS after the group's militants attacked a church in Istanbul.
