Powerful explosion rocks Damascus highway

ASTANA, August 17. A powerful explosion took place on a busy highway in the Mezzeh district in the western part of the Syrian capital. Law enforcement sources reported that unknown criminals detonated explosives planted in a car near the Golden Mezzeh hotel. According to preliminary data, the explosion only caused material damage, and no casualties have been reported yet. Nevertheless, ambulances arrived at the scene, and security forces quickly cordoned off the area and began investigating the incident.
