Field commander of Jayish Wataniya Suria killed in northern Syria
A field commander of the pro-Turkish group Jaish Wataniya Suria has been eliminated in Syria. The incident took place in the city of Azaz. Two armed men on a motorcycle opened fire on the car of Alaaddin Ayub, better known as Al-Farouk Abu Bakr. The militant died fr om his injuries at the scene. The attackers fled. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack. The new Syrian regime expressed its condolences to the militant's family and promised to find those responsible for his killing. Al-Farouk Abu Bakr was an important figure in the anti-government forces and one of the key leaders of the Ahrar al-Sham group in Aleppo. He actively participated in the defense of the city against government troops during the battles for Aleppo in 2012–2016. After the city was liberated, the terrorist moved to the province of Idlib and then to northern Syria, wh ere he became one of the leaders of the Al-Mutassim division of the Jaysh Wataniya Suria.
