August 21. In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, the National Security Committee is taking systematic measures to combat the illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition.

Since the beginning of August 2025, the NSC, in conjunction with the police and in coordination with the prosecutor's office, has been conducting a series of operational search measures in the cities of Astana, Shymkent, Atyrau, Zhambyl, Karaganda, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, and Ulytau regions.

Twelve Kalashnikov assault rifles, six pistols, 15 shotguns, three grenades, and more than 500 rounds of ammunition were seized.

Investigative and operational measures are being carried out in relation to these incidents.
