Russian FSB Busts a Hizb ut-Tahrir Cell in Crimea

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) busted a cell of the Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami terrorist organization (banned in the Russian Federation) in Crimea.

According to the Center for Public Relations of the FSB of Russia, six people were detained. The activities of the cell were coordinated from Ukraine. The detainees were spreading terrorist ideology and “recruiting residents of Russia from among local Muslims" during the meetings.

Prohibited propaganda materials, communication and data storage devices have been seized at the detainees’ residences. Criminal cases have been opened.
