Activities of a Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami Cell Thwarted in Crimea

Staff members of the FSB of Russia, jointly with the Russian Guard, thwarted the activities of a cell of Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami (banned in the Russian Federation) and detained six members of the terrorist organization.

“It has been established that these individuals carried out targeted activities, spreading terrorist ideology in our country, under the coordination by the emissaries of a foreign terrorist organization staying in Ukraine,” the Russian special services said in a statement.

Security forces found and seized the propaganda materials of the group, electronic media, and means of communication in the places of residence of these citizens.

The investigating authorities opened criminal cases.
