CIS Experts Agreed on a Project to Establish a Center for Assessment of Terrorism Financing Risks

The expert group approved a draft agreement on the establishment of the International Center for Assessing the Risks of Legalization (Laundering) of Proceeds from Crime and the Financing of Terrorism in the CIS. This was reported by the press service of Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The draft agreement assumes that the Center, to be created under the initiative of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the CIS member states, will serve as an infrastructure facility to support the exchange of data and electronic documents. The Center will improve cooperation between the Commonwealth states in the field of combating the legalization of proceeds of crime and the financing of terrorism, as well as ensure effective interstate interaction in the field of information exchange through financial intelligence units.
