Israeli Prime Minister Vows Strong Response to Jerusalem Attacks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged citizens not to take the law into their own hands and promised a strong and swift response to the terrorist attacks in Jerusalem. He made this statement on January 28 during a meeting of the security cabinet.

 

Earlier in the day, two people were injured in a shooting at the City of David archaeological site in East Jerusalem. Later it became known that a 13-year-old teenager was the shooter. He has already been interrogated.

 

On January 27, a terrorist attack took place in the Neve Yaakov neighbourhood, leaving eight people dead, including the attacker. Ten more people were injured. The attack took place in a synagogue and the attacker was shooting at people as they rushed into the street. Later, the Israeli police announced the detention of 42 people during the investigation of this terrorist attack.
