China’s Deputy Representative to the UN: “It is necessary to end the illegal presence of foreign troops in Syria”

China has repeated its demand to end the illegal presence of foreign troops in Syria and their continued plunder of Syrian natural resources.

"The illegal presence of foreign military troops and their illegal military operations in Syria must be stopped, and the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria must be fully respected," China's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dai Bing said at a meeting of the Security Council.

The Chinese diplomat urged the global community to abide by international law and Security Council resolutions, adopt common standards, counter all terrorists in Syria, and cease condoning, shielding, or politically exploiting terrorist forces.

Dai Bing stressed that China calls for the immediate and complete lifting of unilateral coercive sanctions on Syria, as they run counter to the efforts of the Security Council and the wider international community to improve humanitarian access and increase humanitarian resources in Syria.
