At least 20 IS fighters escaped a Syrian prison after the earthquake

At least 20 prisoners suspected of belonging to the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization have escaped from a prison near the north-western Syrian city of Raju after the earthquake. It was reported by Al Jazeera TV channel. In total, about 1,300 IS suspects were held in that prison.

“After the earthquake, the prison building was damaged, the prisoners rebelled and took over part of the prison,” said one of the prison staff.
