A convicted foreigner In Novosibirsk sentenced to nine years in colony for promoting terrorism

The district military court in Novosibirsk sentenced a man serving a sentence in the Novosibirsk region to nine years in a strict regime colony for promoting terrorism among inmates. The press service of the regional FSB department  reported this to TASS.

According to the FSB representatives, Jahongir Mullabayev, who was convicted of grave crimes and sentenced to 16 years in prison, was spreading radical Islam and terrorism narratives among convicts serving sentences in a strict regime correctional colony in the Novosibirsk Region. He also tried to create a religious extremist cell in the penitentiary institution. A criminal case was initiated, investigated and submitted to the court on the grounds of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“Public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism”).
