US announces elimination of a high-ranking IS leader in Syria

The Central Command of the US Armed Forces announced the elimination of a high-ranking leader of the Islamic State (banned in the Russian Federation) in Syria on February 10.

It was noted that Ibrahim al-Qahtani was planning attacks on prisons to free IS militants. During a search of the terrorist's house, weapons and IEDs, including a suicide belt, were seized.
