Tehran denies US claims placing Al Qaeda's leader in Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian called Washington's statement about the whereabouts of al-Qaeda leader Seif al-Adel on the territory of the Islamic Republic “ridiculous” and called on the United States to “stop the failed Iranophobia game.”

Earlier Ned Price said during a press conference that the results of the US investigation are aligned with the results of the UN Security Council experts’ report showing that Seif al-Adel, who became al-Qaeda’s new leader after the death of Ayman al-Zawahiri in 2022, is currently located in Iran.
