Four Iraqi policemen die while attempting to detain IS militants

A deadly shootout took place between police and militants in the Al-Tarmiya district north of the Iraqi capital.

The security forces raided the hideout of one of the cells of the Islamic State (IS, banned in the Russian Federation), eliminating four terrorists, among them one suicide bomber. During the fight, four policemen were killed and six more were injured.

According to law enforcers, the liquidated group planned to attack visitors to the Al-Kadhimiya Shia mosque.

At the same time, the police eliminated two terrorists in Diyala. They seized weapons, night vision goggles and other equipment.
