Terrorism financing channel blocked in Pomorye

Staff members of the department of the FSB of Russia for Arkhangelsk region blocked a channel of terrorism financing in Pomorye. This was reported by the press service of the agency.

The regional administration established that a 28-year-old resident of Arkhangelsk was involved in the financing of terrorism. He was an adherent of a radical Islam movement, sharing the ideology of Islamic State foreign terrorist organization banned in Russia. In October 2020, the Arkhangelsk citizen transferred money to the FTO’s recruiter’s account to finance illegal armed groups. The investigation unit of FSB initiated a criminal case against the young man.
