The Taliban eliminate an IS cell in Kabul

The Taliban security forces dismantled an Islamic State cell. The official spokesman of the Taliban government Zabihullah Mujahid announced this on Twitter.

According to him, “three important IS members were eliminated” during the operation in the 12th district of Kabul city. In addition, the Taliban seized weapons, hand grenades, explosives, as well as components for making explosive devices, from the militants. The Taliban security forces and civilians were not harmed during the operation.

According to the Afghan authorities, the terrorists “used this shelter to carry out terrorist attacks in Kabul.” They also planned to “assault holy places and civilians during the holy month of Ramadan.”
