A resident of Leningrad region taken into custody in the case of terrorism financing

A St. Petersburg court has chosen a restraint measure for a resident of the Leningrad region accused of terrorism financing. He was taken into custody until May 21. This was reported by the press service of the authorities of the city of St. Petersburg.

According to the investing team, the defendant transferred more than 6 thousand rubles to the accounts of members of radical groups in the period from March 26 to April 22, 2022. The money went to the members of the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham terrorist organization in Syria and was used there to disseminate terrorist narratives.
